O CEPAAL – Centro de Estudos e Promoção do Azeite do Alentejo (Centre for the Study and Promotion of Alentejo Olive Oil) was formed in 1999 and is a non-profit association, based in Moura, whose objective is to promote and enhance the value of Alentejo Olive Oil within Portugal and abroad.
Its members include 23 producers and 12 institutions linked to the olive-growing and olive oil sector, including State bodies, municipalities and universities.
Within the scope of its activities, it carries out initiatives to promote Alentejo Olive Oil and is the entity responsible for organising the National Portuguese Olive Oil Contest, which is part of the National Agricultural Fair, and for the Virgin Olive Oil Contest at the National Olive Growing Fair, while it is also the entity responsible for organising the National Olive Oil Congress.

From the more traditional mills to state-of-the art technology Alentejo Olive oil reaches you through the hand of dozens of producers who offer a variety of aromas and experiences through their brands and their know-how. O CEPAAL – Centro de Estudos e Promoção do Azeite do Alentejo (Centre for the Study and Promotion of Alentejo Olive Oil) has 23 member-producers who sell dozens of brands of olive oil.
