Summary of the 2014 Programme, 2nd edition

On 9th May in Moura, Centro de Estudos e Promoção do Azeite do Alentejo (Centre for the Study and Promotion of Alentejo Olive Oil) organised the 1st National Olive Oil Congress – Alentejo Olive Oil. The Moura City Council was a partner of the event and CAP – Confederação de Agricultores de Portugal (Confederation of Farmers of Portugal) provided institutional support.

The agenda for the congress had three panels:

• Economics
• SPEAKER Bruno Dimas GPP
• Trade
• SPEAKER Luís Folque Casa do Azeite
There were more than one hundred attendees at the National Olive Oil Congress, and the three speeches were moderated and commented on by benchmark professionals from various areas of the olive sector.
The Congress was opened by the Mayor of Moura, Mr. Santiago Macias, and by the Secretary of State for Food and Agri-Food Research, Mr. Nuno Vieira de Brito.
The agenda was closed by the Chairman of Confederação de Agricultores de Portugal (Confederation of Farmers of Portugal), João Machado, and by the Executive Director of the International Olive Council, Mr. Jean-Louis Barjol.
