CEPAAL promotes Alentejo Olive oil in foreign markets

To reinforce the presence of Alentejo Olive Oil outside Portugal, CEPAAL signed the terms of acceptance of the project “Promoção do Azeite do Alentejo nos Mercados Externos” (Promoting Alentejo Olive Oil in Foreign Markets), specifically in six target countries: Brazil, the United States, Canada, Germany, Sweden and Denmark
The main objective of this initiative is to make the product and its producers known to new customers and countries, thereby contributing towards increasing exports and giving Alentejo Olive Oil collective visibility. Through the promotional activities, CEPAAL also aims to stimulate the economy in the region, making the corporate network more competitive.
From the more traditional mills to state-of-the art technology Alentejo Olive Oil reaches consumers through the hand of dozens of producers who offer a variety of aromas and experiences through their brands and their know-how. It comes from autochthonous trees, mostly of four main varieties: Galega, Cobrançosa, Cordovil de Serpa and Verdeal.
The project Promoting Alentejo Olive Oil in Foreign Markets is based on sampling initiatives at strategic events and on making it known in six target markets:
- International conferences held in Portugal
- Participation in international fairs and development of showrooms
- Press tour to the Alentejo and its mill with bloggers and journalists
- Gastronomic tour through the Alentejo olive groves and mills with chefs and critics
- Strategic partnership with TAP to offer bottles of olive oil on flights to the target countries
- Others
The project “Promoção do Azeite do Alentejo nos Mercados Externos” (Promoting Alentejo Olive Oils in Foreign Markets) is co-financed by Alentejo 2020, within the scope of the Alentejo Regional Operating Programme. The total investment amounts to 320,682 euros, of which 256,546 euros are from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
